So long as you haven't been living under a rock for the last few months you will be aware that the football world cup starts today. It's been very interesting (and sometimes very entertaining) seeing how companies are piggy-backing this to enhance their sales.
A walk around your local supermarket is enough to make you appreciate how everything from crisps, chocolate and fizzy drinks through to oil and airlines are getting in on the act.
Even though you might not be a formal sponsor (or even a supporter!) of the world cup it's worth taking the opportunity to understand that probably every one of you customers will have an opinion on the world cup and that this connection can be exploited in your emails and website.
Have a think about other events that might provide you with a connection to your target audience. This can then be used to enhance your company's profile as a like-minded supplier.
